For Chanel’s fall couture show, Chanel Makeup’s global creative director, Peter Philips, drew inspiration from the accessories as much as from the clothes. “I wanted to do something graphic with the eyes that would complement the upward movement of the earrings,” he says. His solution? A superexaggerated take on 1960s liner, paired with petal pale lips (he used Chanel Rouge Allure in Mythic). To channel your inner cat woman, line the eye with Chanel Automatic Liquid Eyeliner from the inner corner all the way to where the brow ends, winging the shape out toward the temple. Finish by lining the lower eye with a kohl pencil and applying lashings of black mascara for an edgy, yet elegant, effect.
